The AI Quote Assistant turns a plain English description into a structured quote with line items, material suggestions, and estimated costs.
How It Works
On the quote creation page, click the AI Assistant button. Describe the job in natural language:
"Customer needs 5 custom cable clips in PETG, about 3cm each, snap-fit design. Also wants a mounting plate in PLA, roughly 15cm x 10cm, 3mm thick."
What the AI Generates
The assistant analyses your description and creates structured line items:
- Item descriptions — clear, professional descriptions for each part
- Material suggestions — matched to materials in your library
- Quantity — extracted from your description
- Estimated dimensions and weight — based on the described parts
Review and Edit
The AI's output is a suggestion — review the generated line items, adjust prices, quantities, or descriptions, and then add them to your quote. The AI helps you get 80% of the way there; you provide the final polish.
Tips
- Be specific about quantities, materials, and dimensions for better results
- Mention any special requirements (heat resistance, flexibility, food safe)
- The AI knows your printer and material library, so it suggests from your actual inventory
