Job Tracking with the Kanban Board

Manage your production queue with a visual kanban board — 7 status columns from queued to shipped.

The Jobs page gives you a visual kanban board to track every job through your production pipeline. Drag cards between columns to update their status.

The 7 Status Columns

  1. Queued — accepted and waiting to be printed
  2. Printing — currently on a printer
  3. Post-Processing — support removal, sanding, painting
  4. Quality Check — inspection before packing
  5. Packing — packaging for shipping or pickup
  6. Shipped — sent to the customer
  7. Complete — delivered and confirmed

Creating Jobs

Create jobs in two ways:

  • From an accepted quote — the job inherits the client, line items, and printer assignment
  • Manually — click "New Job" on the Jobs page and fill in the details

Job Cards

Each card on the board shows the job title, client name, assigned printer, and a "Move to next status" button. Click a card to open the job detail page with all the information.

Filtering

Filter the board to show All, Active (non-complete), or Complete jobs. Use this to focus on what needs attention right now versus reviewing finished work.

Board vs List View

Toggle between Board (kanban) and List (table) views. The list view shows all jobs in a sortable, searchable table — useful when you have dozens of active jobs.

Auto-Timestamps

Printforge automatically records when a job enters certain statuses. Moving to "Printing" sets the start time; moving to "Complete" sets the completion time. This gives you accurate production time data.
