Managing Suppliers & Consumables

Track your material suppliers and monitor consumables like nozzles, build plates, and PTFE tubes.

As your print farm grows, tracking where you buy materials and monitoring consumable wear becomes essential. Printforge's supplier and consumable modules keep everything organised.

Suppliers

The Suppliers page stores your material vendors with contact details, website, and the items they supply. For each supplier, you can track:

  • Supplied items with part numbers and SKUs
  • Unit costs for price comparison
  • Order history and lead times

This helps you compare prices across suppliers and quickly reorder when stock runs low.

Consumables

Consumables are items that wear out over time: nozzles, build plates, PTFE tubes, FEP film (for resin printers), glue sticks, IPA, etc. The Consumables page tracks:

  • Current stock count
  • Low-stock threshold with alerts
  • Assigned printer (which printer uses this consumable)
  • Replacement interval (e.g., "every 500 print hours")

Dashboard Alerts

Low-stock consumables appear alongside material alerts on your dashboard. No more discovering you're out of nozzles right when a print fails.

Integration with Cost Calculator

Consumable costs feed into your printer's maintenance cost, which affects the machine hourly rate in the calculator. Keeping consumable data accurate means your cost calculations reflect true operating expenses.
